I was first introduced to Food For The Poor in 2002, and since then I have developed a deep deep bond with the work that they are engaged in. Since that time, Food For the Poor has grown to be the number one international relief organization in the United States, and has had accolades bestowed on it by Charity Watch and Charity Navigator identifying them as a truly extraordinary organization.
During this time, I have traveled to both Jamaica and Haiti a combined seven times, seeing some of the most dire circumstances on the planet, certainly without question in the Western Hemisphere. Often, I have simply become overwhelmed wondering what difference I could make.
Haiti truly has gripped my heart, and I ask you to consider helping me make a difference. Just $144 can feed a family for an entire year in Haiti, a country where one of every eight children dies before the age of 5. I've seen this with my own eyes. I've met mothers who have lost five of their children to starvation or disease related to malnutrition.
